An adapter that allows you to do this is best purchased prior to leaving your country. Foreign Exchange, Banking and CurrencyTravelers' cheques can be cashed at numerous banks, currency exchange locations and stores (with purchases). There are numerous Automatic Teller Machines in downtown Montréal. Banks are closed on Saturdays and Sundays in Canada. Health InsuranceThe Canadian Health Insurance Plan does NOT cover visitors. It is recommended that participants arrange their own health and accident insurance. This can be done before leaving home through a local travel agent or medical association. Internet Café
A computer area has been reserved for all
registered conference delegates to access the
Internet in order to download selected copies
of the conference abstracts or to send and
retrieve e-mails. The Café will be open everyday
during regular business hours (see conference
registration desk hours of operation). LiabilityThe Congress fees DO NOT include provisions for the insurance of participants against personal injuries, sickness and theft or property damage. This also applies to any event held during the Congress period. Participants and accompanying persons are advised to arrange for insurance they consider necessary. U.S. born citizens should carry a passport or a birth certificate plus photo I.D.; naturalized citizens need naturalization certificates with photo I.D.; permanent residents (who are not citizens) need the alien-registration card. Taxes
The Goods and Services Tax (at time of
production) is a 6% tax that is charged
on most goods and services sold or provided

Montréal enjoys a temperate climate similar to
that of many major American cities including
New York and Chicago. In summer months
(June to August), the average daytime
temperature is 26°C (80°F).
